At Our Lady of Victories Primary School, Shortland there was plenty of creativity on display with towers of feathers and eggs, just a few sets of bunny ears and even a couple of light-up hats. The school community were also visited by a special guest, the Easter Bunny, who helped hand out raffle prizes to a number of lucky winners at the end of the parade.

By some miracle it seemed most of the chocolate eggs had survived till the afternoon when friends and family packed into the school hall at Joseph’s Primary School, Kilaben Bay to watch students show off their Easter creations.

“St Joseph’s came alive with feathers, eggs, glitter and more colourful hats that we have seen for many years,” said principal of St Joseph’s, Charlene Reid.

“The smiles and laughter coming from the students was priceless, not to mention the happiness coming from our wonderfully enthusiastic and clearly creative adults who filled the hall as our audience.” 

St Francis Xavier’s Primary School, Belmont turned their Easter hat parade into a fashion show, as students walked up and down the runway showing off their colourful creations. There was plenty of bunny ears, colourful eggs and even bedazzled sombreros.

There were high fives all around as students at St Benedict’s Primary School, Edgeworth paraded around their hall with their Easter hats. There was certainly a strong line-up of unique hats including a Bunnings bird nest, a Willy Wonka-inspired piece and a Transformer egg tree.
