The story line:

Follow Captain Lucy Dastoor and her swashbuckling crew as they hunt for the lost treasure of Andreas against the backdrop of an over-taxed community under the control of a greedy Governor.

To find it they’ll have to sail through storms, fight off the villainous Cutthroat Crowe and defeat the fabled Kraken while proving to everyone around them that women can make some of the very best pirates.

This fun filled adventure is designed to entertain and excite with a host of popular music that punctuates the storyline throughout as well as some sea shanties thrown in for good measure!

This program addresses the concept of girls being considered ‘less strong’ than boys, highlighting the fact that everyone has something to offer and something special to bring to the world. This is something that resonates with both students and the audience.

Artistic Director Anna Kerrigan said “I would like to thank the wonderful ASPIRE staff who work tirelessly to provide the young performers, designers and backstage crew with a hugely enjoyable experience that develops them as performers. Your commitment and energy is so appreciated.”

An incredibly well-established initiative of the Catholic Schools Office, ASPIRE continues to offer a range of creative and performing arts opportunities for students within our diocese including song writing, scriptwriting, theatre makers programs and concert band as well as working with many of our diocesan schools with a range of workshops and performance support.
