During Term 3 each child beginning school the following year will walk across to St Catherine's College for a transition visit.

On rotation, the children participate in a variety of activities focused on school readiness skills and development. Over Term 3 the children will:

• take their own lunch box across to big school and experience lunch in the playground 
• take money to the canteen and make a purchase, and
• visit a kindergarten classroom and sit at the tables while practising writing and pencil grip.

The children are  bursting with excitement as they anticipate their first visit and they continue to look forward to their visit every week.

We believe our visits are an important part of our School Readiness Program and we hope we are sending well prepared children off to ‘big school’.
