LITURGY MATTERS: Connecting through Spirit and Song

Last month we invited readers to consider attending the 4th National Conference of the Australian Pastoral Musicians Network (APMN) which will run from 1-3 October 2019 at the Australian Catholic University (ACU) in Melbourne.

This conference is not to be missed. It is a great example of the intrinsic connection between all things. It feels like the Holy Spirit is moving and shaking our Australian Church, drawing together a number of threads that lead to and from the conference.

Titled ‘Listen to the Spirit and sing’ the conference theme reflects the 2020 Plenary Council’s urging to listen to what the Spirit is saying and discover how God is calling us to be a Christ-centred Church.

Scanning the extensive range of APMN conference workshops, I’m delighted to see a number of conference speakers with a connection to local learning opportunities in our diocese.

All diocesan roads are leading to our participation, not only in the Plenary Council, but also our own Diocesan Synod.  This conference will inspire and enrich our participation in both, supporting us as we listen to what the Spirit is saying through the opportunities and connections that abound this year.
