Plenary Council 2020 Update - 150 animators trained

The first step in the Plenary Council 2020 and Diocesan Synod process is now complete. This involved formation and training sessions for animators with 15 sessions held in August and September across the Diocese.

These training sessions attracted 150 people who have become animators. The animators will now begin to run listening and dialogue sessions in their own parishes, schools and other groups.

Listening and dialogue sessions will take place in small groups and prepare people to respond to the question:

“What do you think God is asking of us in Australia at this time?”

Everyone is encouraged to take part in these sessions.

Each listening and dialogue session is an opportunity to get together a group of friends, family members and/or colleagues – to spend some time together thinking about and talking about experiences of faith, life and the Church.

Responses will be provided to the Plenary Council to inform the planning of the Plenary Council in 2020.

These responses will also be provided to our Diocese to form the basis of the data we will use when planning our own Diocesan Synod.

If you would like to take part in a listening and dialogue session, contact your local parish for more details.

Your parish will be able to help you get in contact with a trained animator.
