The Council for Australian Catholic Women (CACW) in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle is pleased to announce the inaugural Magdalene Award. The Award was launched at the Day of Reflection at Broadmeadow in July.
Some 70 women gathered on Saturday, 23 July, to participate in a day of reflection hosted jointly by the local contact group of the Council for Australian Catholic Women and the Catholic Women’s League Australia Inc.
The diocese’s 71 World Youth Day pilgrims’ countdown to departure is reaching fever pitch with ‘D Day’ on Thursday 14 July. For 27 days, pilgrims – spanning a broad age range – will walk in the footsteps of the saints and then make their way to Krakow. Here they will join thousands of pilgrims from all over the world in welcoming Pope Francis and eagerly listening to his words.
