MEGA GALLERY: Catholic Schools Week - Day 6

With many schools ending their Catholic Schools Week celebrations yesterday, it was certainly a busy day around the Diocese, with the highlight being the annual Bishop’s Award presentation.

There were liturgies, open classrooms, morning and afternoon teas and school tours hosted by a number of schools including St Columba’s Primary School, AdamstownSt Joseph’s Primary School, East MaitlandRosary Park Catholic School, BranxtonSt Francis Xavier’s Primary School, BelmontSt Paul’s Primary School, Gateshead and St Pius X Primary School, Windale.

SERVE

On Friday evening, students from Catholic schools in the Maitland-Newcastle Diocese received awards at the 2019 Bishop’s Catholic Youth Mass. The Bishop’s Awards were presented during a liturgy held at St John’s Chapel in Maitland and welcomed families of the recipients, the school community and clergy to enjoy the student achievements.

With more liturgies and open classrooms, students from St Kevin’s Primary School, CardiffHoly Cross Primary School, GlendaleSt Peter’s Primary School, StocktonSt Patrick’s Primary School, CessnockSt John the Baptist Primary School, MaitlandSt Patrick’s Primary School, Lochinvar and St Paul’s Primary School, Rutherford also got the chance to spend some extra time with their families during afternoon picnic lunches and playing various games and sports.
