Praying the road to Calvary - A Holy Week Retreat

To help you through a very different Holy Week for all of us this year, Fr Richard Shortall SJ, diocesan retreat and spiritual director, is offering an opportunity to walk prayerfully through these days at home.

Each day he will provide a manageable suggestion to help you be in God’s presence and give God your loving attention.  This is what God most desires of you during Holy Week.

Because the sessions will not be live streamed, you will be able to follow the daily sessions at a time that suits you—either as individuals, or as a family or a household.

The retreat will begin with an introduction that will be available on Palm Sunday.  This session will help you prepare for the retreat.

Access the sessions here.

The retreat will run from Monday of Holy Week until Easter Sunday.

Many in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle will know Fr Richard Shortall from his time as the Missionary of Mercy in the Year of Mercy, as he travelled around the diocese in a motor home running similar retreats and conversations.

It is a wonderful opportunity to set aside time each day for God.

For an extra activity on Palm Sunday, you may like to try and make a palm cross.
