October 19 is going to be a great day. That is the day Nick Wagner and Diana Macalintal, who are Team RCIA, will be here to run a workshop day. We have been in communication with Nick and Diana and they are very excited about spending the day with us. They have developed a program for a full and engaging day that will ground us in the Rite itself: the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.

Some weeks ago I wrote about how, as a Church, we might mark the Perpetual Day of Remembrance, which Bishop Bill declared in 2017 as one of the ways we would hold our history of child sexual abuse. Today’s Liturgy Matters continues to focus on RCIA ahead of our day with Team RCIA on October 19. Last week our focus was mission. This week we ponder initiation. Mission and Initiation are two sides of the same coin. Both are our core business and involve everyone.

Today’s Liturgy Matters continues to focus on RCIA ahead of our day with Team RCIA on 19 October. We are endeavouring to ‘till the ground’, to get us thinking so we come ready and open to engage with Nick and Diana and each other and so get the most from the day.
