The celebration of the 150 years since the arrival of the first residential Bishop in the Diocese of Maitland, Bishop James Murray, came to a fitting climax on Sunday with the dedication of the former St John the Baptist Cathedral as St John’s Chapel.
Deaf Pride Mass
The annual Deaf Pride Mass, an initiative of St Dominic’s Centre, Mayfield, was held on Saturday 29 October, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Hamilton, to mark National Week of Deaf People.

Bishop Bill has announced the name of the diocese’s newest secondary school, Catherine McAuley Catholic College. Located in Medowie, the new secondary school will open in 2020, with building works set to commence in 2018.
