The NSW Polding Winter Sports trials were held in Bathurst earlier this Term. The Maitland-Newcastle Open league team was highly successful, going through the rounds undefeated.

Running the good race
It was a picture perfect day for over 900 runners at the diocesan primary cross country last Wednesday at the Tarro Recreational grounds. There were some impressive times on the day and some very close finishes. The top 8 in each division progresses to the NSWCPS Championships at Sydney Motor Park.

RAY COLLINS: Boat people
My forebears came to Australia by boat, most of them prior to the 1850s and all from Ireland. Two came involuntarily whilst the others were fleeing the poverty and discrimination that existed in Ireland at the time.
