Getting the Year of Youth off to a fun and vibrant start in East Maitland

Youth from across the Hunter Valley are invited to join the Catholic Youth of St Joseph’s Catholic Church, East Maitland, to celebrate the official launch of the Year of Youth.

In the spirit of realising new horizons and spreading joy, youth groups from around the Chisholm region will be kicking off the Year of Youth with a fun-filled day of activities for all to enjoy, including sumo wrestling in inflatable sumo suits; appearances by the timeless and beloved Disney characters, Mickey and Minnie Mouse; a photobooth to take commemorative photos; a craft table; hair braiding; and, perhaps most exciting of all, will be the pie-face showdown table.

The fun will begin at 3.30pm and will take place in the Therry Centre, East Maitland.

All young people are invited to attend.

The Australian Catholic Youth Festival, Mass and cake

Immediately after all of the fun activities, there will be a showing of some of the highlights from the Australian Catholic Youth Festival. This took place in December of last year and the event marked the official launch of the Year of Youth. After the showing, teens from the Chisholm region will perform a lively hymnal musical performance before mass.

After mass, all are invited to a barbecue - after which cake will be served.

An open invitation to the Year of Youth launch

The St Joseph’s Year of Youth launch is an excellent opportunity for young people to evangelise through fellowship.

With this in mind, St Joseph’s, East Maitland would like to extend the invite to this event to friends and neighbours in the community.
