2018 World Day of Prayer: “All God’s creation is very good”

On Friday 2 March people from the various church congregations on the Tilligerry Peninsula gathered together in Our Lady Help of Christians Church at Mallabula.

For some years there has been a strong relationship between the members of the churches – Anglican, Baptist, Catholic, Church 4 Life, Church of Christ, Salvation Army, The Rock Church, Christian Reformed Church and the Uniting Church. Each year members of these congregations gather for four regular Combined Churches Services and there is a roster for each church to have the opportunity to host a service.

This year, the community of Our Lady Help of Christians Church at Mallabula was privileged to host the World Day of Prayer and members of the various church communities came together to participate in the service and celebrate.

The resources provided by the World Day of Prayer Committee on behalf of the people of the host country, Suriname, were well prepared and gave guidelines that were easy to follow, leading to a wonderful service.

Light refreshments, contributed by many, followed with much fellowship and friendship.

May God bless the people of Suriname and may all the world come to realise that “All God’s creation is very good.”
