Assistance with Settlement Services International for accommodation for families from refugee backgrounds

Settlement Services International (SSI) assists newly arrived refugees to resettle in Newcastle through the Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP).

The tragic events taking place in Afghanistan have led to an influx of Afghan families into our region. Unfortunately due to the current housing crisis in Newcastle and the Hunter Valley, many families have extended periods in short-term housing, which greatly impacts their well-being and the feeling of being 'at home'.

SSI is looking for landlords who are willing to commence tenancies with refugee families, specifically looking for 2-4 bedroom properties. The families will pay market rent and are fully supported by their SSI Case Managers.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Please contact Helen Larkin at SSI hlarkin@ssi.org.au at SSI if you can help or alternatively visit the website https://www.ssi.org.au/ for more information.
