I am writing this message some time before you read it, as Allen and I will be on two week’s leave in the north of Queensland with one of our children and her family. Recently, I have had the benefit of watching the recording of the sessions of the Scottish Laity Network on the Synodal Journey.

The thing I think about most on Trinity Sunday is relationships. That is what I believe Christianity calls us to - to live in a relationship with God, ourselves, each other, and the whole of creation.

I am convinced that the Holy Spirit calls us to show concern for the building of a better world. This is why God, the Father, sent us his son, Jesus, who in turn has left us an advocate to empower us in the ways of truth, peace, healing and countless other good gifts.

People of many faiths were actively engaged in the coronation service, while Charles was anointed as both spiritual leader of the Church of England, Head of State, Head of the Commonwealth, and commander-in-chief of the British armed forces. Although he does not have executive or political power, the role of King exists to serve the community.
