DR MICHAEL SLATTERY: Evangelisation Challenge
Our ability to evangelise and make disciples of school communities and parishes remains a real challenge.
TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: Building on our future
It is hard for me to imagine that only one week has passed since writing my last message to you. So what has happened in that past week to make me feel this way?
DR MICHAEL SLATTERY: Faith in Our Schools
A diocese is only as strong as the people who contribute to it. Thank you for your commitment to a genuine expression of faith of the Church.
TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: Lent is upon us
The season of Lent begins this week with Ash Wednesday; a season of prayer, fasting, abstinence and generous giving.
TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: Building peace and harmony
Last week, I shared with you the first part of Pope Francis’ World Day of Peace message. In that part of his message he reflected upon our need to build a culture of peace. In the second part of this message he shares some of the reasons for so many refugees, making reference to the endless and horrifying sequence of wars, conflicts, genocides and ethnic cleansings.
DR MICHAEL SLATTERY: St Bede's Welcomes First Students
On Friday I had the honour to address the St Bede’s Catholic College community of parents and students at their first welcome liturgy.
TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: In search of peace
Welcome back to the new year as we, once again, begin the normal routine of life – work, school, meetings, sporting commitments, exercise, children and grandchildren before and after school events etc.
TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: Connecting to the Christmas Story
I write this last message for the year on Gaudete Sunday – the Sunday of joy, rejoicing and eager expectation. This day will be completed by going to Lochinvar and being part of their traditional Carols in the Cloister. What a joyous way to continue preparing for the celebration of Christmas.
